What is ALECAST and what is it used for?
ALECAST should be used for the treatment of persistent asthma in adults and children aged 15 years and older.
Do not use ALECAST for short-term relief from an asthma attack. When you have an asthma attack, you should do what your doctor tells you to treat your asthma attacks.
Allergic Rhinitis:
ALECAST is used to help control the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose and itching). ALECAST tablet is used for the relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis (year-round) symptoms in patients aged 15 years and older.
ALECAST is available in packages of 28 and 84 tablets. Each tablet contains 10 mg of active substance (montelukast).
What is asthma?
Asthma is a persistent (chronic) inflammation of the bronchial airways, the tubes that carry air from outside the body to the lungs.
Asthma symptoms include:
Cough
wheezing
chest tightness
Shortness of breath
What is allergic rhinitis?
Seasonal allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, is triggered by allergens found outside the home, such as tree, grass, and grass pollen.
Perennial allergic rhinitis can occur year-round and is usually triggered by household allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, and/or mold spores.
Symptoms of allergic rhinitis may include:
- Nasal congestion, runny and/or itching
- Sneeze
